The St.Vincent-St.Mary Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country team started their quest for States at Districts at GlenOak High School on October 18, 2025. Last year, the STVM Boys’ Cross Country team finished in third place at districts. Senior Kyle Hammer led them with an individual finish of 5th place. Unfortunately, all things must come to an end, as STVM fell short in the regionals once again. STVM came into the 2025 season with many uncertainties due to the majority of the boys’ team graduating. The boys’ team has shown their fight and come out stronger than ever, going into the postseason. They are led by Junior Marcus Chuba.

Caleb Parish VM27 (Featured Above) finished 122 out of 174 runners. He ran a time of 19:56.
The STVM Boys’ Team had another good race at districts. They finished 13th as a team, behind Junior Marcus Chuba’s top-30 individual finish. The boys’ team worked hard and ran as a team to advance to regionals. 
Marcus Chuba VM27 (Featured Above) finished 29 out of 174 runners. He ran a time of 17:47.
Last year, the STVM Girls’ Cross Country team finished 1st place at districts, winning the district title. Freshman Savaya Woody and Senior Camille Dunifer led the team. Savaya got 2nd place individually, and Camille got 4th place individually. The girls’ team continued their dominant postseason run by finishing 3rd place at regionals. Freshman Savaya Woody and Senior Camille Dunifer led them to their top 3 finish as a team. Savaya got 5th place individually, and Camillie got 6th place individually. The Girls’ team ended their 2024 season at the OHSAA State Championship. They got 6th place as a team. Their top two runners were Savaya Woody and Camille Dunifer. Savaya got 9th place individually, and Camillie got 11th place individually. The Girls’ team came into the 2025 season with lots of excitement after another year of success. They are going into the postseason looking for another deep run and state appearance. They are led by Sophomore Savaya Woody.

Savaya Woody VM28 (Featured Above) finished 3rd out of 106 runners. She ran a time of 19:41.
The STVM Girls’ Team had another successful race at districts. They got 3rd place as a team behind Sophomore Savaya Woody’s 3rd place finish individually. The STVM Girls’ team had 4 runners finish in the Top 20. These runners were Sophomore Savaya Woody, Junior Julia Rea, Sophomore Daphne Kindbom, and Junior Grace Shoemaker.
Both Teams advanced to the Regional Tournament, which will be held on October 25, 2025, at Boardman High School.
