On December 3rd, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School had two athletes sign to continue their academic and athletic careers. This was very exciting for these athletes as they get to further their love for their sport.
Tatum Smith VM26 signed with the NCAA Division II Lake Erie College for women’s basketball. She is the 28th STVM girls basketball player to go play collegiate basketball since 2014, as well as the 23rd of the “Chosen Ones.” She is a four-year letterwinner, as well as a captain on the girls’ basketball team. Her athletic awards include: Sectional Champ 3x, District Champ 3x, Regional Semifinalist 3x, STVM Highest Shooting Award 2023-2024 Season, WTCBA Honorable Mention. In her time on the basketball team, Tatum is 41.4% from the 3 and 50.4% from the field. Tatum said, “Signing Day was exciting for my family and me, a lifelong dream come true.”

Caitryn Coyle VM26 signed with NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure University for women’s golf. St. Bonaventure University will be fielding its first-ever team in school history in the 2026-2027 season. Caitryn is a four-year letterwinner. Her athletic awards include: 2025 Academic All-Ohio, 2x State Participant (Division 2), 2x 2nd Team All-Ohio (Division 1), Northeast Ohio Division 2 Sophomore MVP, and 1st Team All-Northeast Ohio (Division 2). Caitryn said, “Signing day was very exciting for my family and me. Having my family there was very important for me. It was so much fun having Tatum next to me.”
