It’s that time of the year again, Irish, where we need your support in the American Red Cross blood drive! The need for donations is never-ending, and with your help, we can make a meaningful contribution to the community.
Why Should I Sign up?
You should consider signing up for a few reasons. For starters, this could be your way to give back and support the community. Another reason is that the need for blood is constant, nationwide; someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds, so there’s never a moment when your donation would not be a necessity. Who knows, maybe even you or someone close to you

Where & When?
The drive will be held on January 23rd from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Cosgrove.
Specifically for our STVM students: To sign up, you must be at least 16, or 16 with a parent permission slip available in Dr. Rickles’ room (room 252) or picked up from STVM senior Isabel Petit. You are also allowed to do a walk-in and fill out your information when you get there if you do not require a parent permission slip. If you donate blood, you receive a free STVM dress-down for that day and will be credited with 3-6 service hours, depending on your donation. Even without donating, you can help by spreading the word to friends.
Hope this gave you a helpful insight and a better idea of what you would like to do to help donate or participate! The link for an online sign-up form and a printout of the parent permission form are below. Thank you for your support, and have a great day, Irish!

Keeley, what an outstanding summary of the reasons and value of blood donation. Knowing that one donation can save three lives, six in some circumstance, eleven possibly premie babies.
The St.Vincent St. Mary school community has participated in donations for over 30 years! Saving lives is part of “…being the best that you can be…. Be Irish”!
