Christmas is right around the corner, Irish, and our seniors all have their hearts set on some special presents this year. Owen Griswald has been wanting new headphones, specifically the Beats Studio Pro. Jayden Tayor has his eyes on a massage gun for after his runs. Josh Abucejo needs a new set of brakes on his car, and speaking of cars, Levi Lile has some cool car-branded clothing that he’s been wanting for months! Evan Kee wants some new Ohio State football gear.
When I asked Will Morehouse what he wanted for Christmas, he told me that he wanted for Christmas was his two front teeth. Yes, Indeed his two front teeth. When I informed him that this was serious investigative journalism, he doubled down on his wish. Note: He does infact, currently have all of his teeth.
Trinity Swinehart wants food giftcards for when she is in collage, and cash. Keeley Wade wants new art supplies, and cash. Dietrich Loyed also wanted cash. Additionally, Everett Sailsbury also wanted cash. In total, 36% of all STVM Seniors that I asked what they wanted for Christmas, said cash.
Just for fun, I asked teacher Mr. Glidden what he wanted, and he said, “Well, I’m and adult so someone to pay off my mortgage.” That would be a pretty amazing Christmas Present, but I don’t know how Santa can fit that under a tree!
As we reflect on what everyone wants this year, it is also important to remember that Christmas is not just about what you can get, but rather what you can give to others. Whether that’s a present wrapped up under the tree, a donation to a foodbank, a random act of kindness, or just a hug, make sure that you’re giving more than you’re getting this Christmas!
