October 1, 2025, the night of the Summit County College Fair held at STVM’s Lebron James Arena. All students from grades 9 to 12 were encouraged to attend. Institutions from as far as Michigan, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and West Virginia were there, along with 90 other colleges. I spoke to our very own College and Career Counselor, Mrs. Henry, and asked her a few questions about this exciting night.
As many of you know, college can be expensive if certain precautions aren’t taken.“The College Fair is an opportunity for students to get information from over 90 colleges all in one place, to meet/make connections with the College Representatives, and to potentially gain fee waivers for admission applications,” says Henry. She was not in charge of the college fair in 2024, but some of the new colleges that she is aware of are “The University of Kentucky, University of Rochester, Capital University, and Case Western University.”
Henry’s goal for the 2025 Summit County College Fair is for “as many STVM students to attend as possible, so that they have the opportunity to make connections with the College Representatives and get information from over 90 colleges that they may not be able to visit otherwise. “ She is most excited that “the University of Akron & Eastern Michigan University” will be in attendance because they are her alma mater. Any STVM student who attended receives a dress-down pass for Friday, October 10, 2025.
We hope that this new chapter for seniors is seamless and as stress-free as possible. Be Your Best, Be Irish!
