Friday, September 5th, the Fighting Irish faced off against the Hudson

Head coach Doran Grant is leading the players on the field.

Explorers at Green Street Stadium. Many people from the STVM community came out in support of our very own Fighting Irish. Students were dressed as beachgoers, and the student section was booming with energy!

The head coach of the STVM football team is none other than Doran Grant, a former Buckeye and NFL player. This is his second year coaching at St. Vincent-St. Mary. His career record as of September fifth, is 1-12. The Fighting Irish are 0-3 and are ranked #35 in their division.

Hudson Explorers’ head coach is Jeff Gough. He is in his tenth year of coaching and, as of this game, has a career record of 76-33. The Explorers are 2-1 and ranked #9 in their division.

The Fighting Irish are snapping the football.

By the second half, the Explorers were up 42-0. The student section was cheering on the Irish and trying to lift their spirits.

Unfortunately, after a tough fight, the Fighting Irish lost 49-0. We pray for the best outcomes as the 25-26 football season continues. Be Your Best, Be Irish!
